Volunteer Spotlight: Anne Larsen

Here at Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley, Anne Larsen is known as “Wonder Woman” because when there’s a need, she swoops in. Whether it is helping incarcerated individuals achieve GED success, teaching refugees English, or developing a workplace curriculum for Virginia Tech employees, Anne willingly embraces each opportunity.

In recognition of Anne’s serve to the LVNRV community, she was recently featured as an Instructor Spotlight by ProLiteracy, the largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the nation! ProLiteracy believes that a safer, stronger, and more sustainable society starts with an educated adult population (we couldn’t agree more!). For more than 60 years, ProLiteracy has been working across the globe to change lives and communities through the power of literacy.

Visit ProLiteracy’s website to read their wonderful spotlight on Anne and check out the rest of their resources for professional development and advocacy for adult literacy.
